Meherun Nahar received a full scholarship to present her research study

Ms. Meherun Nahar, a research grantee of 2023 and active member of BTCRN, conducted a study, titled “Trend or Trap: The Influence of Social Media Advertising of E-Cigarettes on Young Adults of Dhaka City, Bangladesh,” under the Tobacco Control Policy Research Grant Program managed by the Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP) in collaboration with Institute for Global Tobacco Control. She received a fully funded scholarship to present her study at the prestigious World Conference on Tobacco Control 2025, held from 23–25 June in Ireland.
Meherun Nahar is a passionate communication professional and emerging academic, with a strong interest in how media and communication shape public health behavior, particularly in tobacco marketing and consumption. She completed her studies in Mass Communication and Journalism from Bangladesh University of Professionals and recently joined Daffodil International University as a Lecturer. She is also a graduate of the Ascend Leadership Program by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her contributions have been recognized with several prestigious honors, including the Youth of the Year 2023 award by YPEER Asia Pacific and the Inspiring Women Volunteer Award by UN Women.
