Dr. Sabrina Ahmed, PhD, Research Grantee of the Tobacco Control Policy Research Grant Program

Dr. Sabrina Ahmed, PhD, Research Grantee of the Tobacco Control Policy Research Grant Program and Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health at NSU, presented her recent research on "Evaluation of the Effectiveness of 5A-5R Counseling Services for Tobacco Cessation, a Major Risk Factor for Noncommunicable Diseases" at the International Congress of Nutrition (ICN) 2025, held from August 24 to 29, 2025 in Paris, France. Dr. Ahmed shared her findings with a global audience, reporting that tobacco cessation can be effectively achieved at the rural community level through the implementation of a WHO-recommended 5A-5R structured counseling approach. Dr. Ahmed conducted this study under the Tobacco Control Policy Research Grant Program 2024, implemented by BCCP with financial support from Bloomberg Philanthropies through the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA.
